China’s electric vehicle revolution is in full swing, and range anxiety is a thing of the past. Today, Chinese automakers are producing plenty of awesome electric cars.

NIO ET7 – 649 miles

On top of our list is the upcoming NIO ET7. With a 150 kWh battery pack, it can go as far as 1,044 km (649 miles) on a single charge. Right now, NIO ET7 has the largest capacity battery in a mass-produced Chinese passenger vehicle.

ET7’s battery has an industry-leading energy density of 360 Wh/kg at the cell level. It weighs 575 kg, which is only 20 kg more than its 100 kWh pack. Nio’s innovative battery swap system also makes it easy to upgrade from the standard 73.5 kWh pack to the 150 kWh pack.

Despite the ET7’s larger battery, it has excellent efficiency. This is thanks to the ET7’s sleek aerodynamic design with a drag coefficient of just 0.208.

IM Motor L6 – 620 miles

The IM Motor L6 is an exciting entry into the electric vehicle (EV) market. It highlights a significant leap in battery performance with its new 130 kWh semi-solid-state battery. L6 can go up to 1,000 km (620 miles) on a single charge with its long-range battery.

The 800V battery architecture of L6 also allows for ultra-fast charging. In just 12 minutes, you can add 400 km (249 miles) of range. As its former 100 kWh edition enjoyed a range of 780 km (485 miles), it would still have been on our list of long-range Chinese EVs.

The IM L6 is packed with Nvidia Orin X processor and Qualcomm 8295 chip. It features DZT dynamic tracking technology that uses a 360° camera to identify potential hazards. Plus, it comes with a multi-angle Carlog, which allows you to record in-car vlogs using built-in cameras.

NIO ES6 – 577 miles

Next up on our list is the NIO ES6. Another impressive electric SUV from the NIO brand with a long range. With its latest 150kWh battery pack, the ES6 can go up to 929 km (577 miles) on a single charge. Its battery specs are similar to those of the ET7 sedan.

Since the ES6 is an SUV, it comes in a rather boxy shape. Some of the efficiency of its battery pack is lost due to the aerodynamics of the exterior. On the other hand, its dual motors produce a combined 483hp, allowing it to accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 4.5 seconds.

As a Nio owner, you’ll have access to over 1,000 Nio charging stations and 3,000 battery swap stations across China. The battery swap stations allow you to exchange your depleted battery for a fully charged one in just a few minutes, minimizing downtime.

ZEEKR 009 – 511 miles

The ZEEKR 009 is making waves in the electric vehicle (EV) market as a luxury multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). With its striking design and impressive long range, it stands out as a serious contender against established models.

The highlight is undoubtedly the 140 kWh CATL Qilin battery pack available in the ME Edition. The advanced battery technology not only enhances its efficiency but also provides a remarkable range of 822 km (511 miles) on a single charge.

The Qilin battery used in ZEEKR 009 is notable for its innovative cell-to-pack design. It allows for a 13% increase in power density compared to similar-sized batteries, such as Tesla’s 4680 cells. This means you get more energy storage without significantly increasing size or weight.

HiPhi Y – 503 miles

Other brands featured on this list are pretty famous, but you might not have heard about this one called HiPhi. HiPhi is seriously leading the charge in producing long-range electric cars in China with its models like HiPhi Y and HiPhi Z.

This particular model of HiPhi Z boasts an industry-leading 115 kWh battery pack. The HiPhi Y’s battery uses an advanced ternary lithium battery pack. With this, you can expect an incredible driving range of up to 810 km (503 miles) on a single charge.

ZEEKR 001 – 466 miles

The ZEEKR 001 is an intriguing entry into the electric vehicle market. It offers two battery pack options: a 95 kWh and a 100 kWh variant. But the 100 kWh battery is particularly impressive with a range of up to 750 km (466 miles) under the Chinese testing cycle (CLTC).

The performance of the 001 is equally noteworthy; the dual-motor all-wheel drive version delivers an exhilarating 789 hp and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. This makes it not only a practical vehicle but also one that can satisfy your need for speed.

ZEEKR 001 is also one of the fastest-charging EVs on the market today. The Zeekr 001 charged from 10% to 80% in 11 minutes, gaining a 473 km (294 miles) range using a 600 kW charger. It achieved a peak charging power of 546 kW and added 264 km (164 miles) in 5 minutes.

XPeng P7 – 441 miles

The XPeng P7 offers a blend of performance, technology, and range. P7 comes in several variants, but we are most interested in its RWD Super Long Range model. It boasts an 86.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a usable battery capacity of 82.7 kWh.

XPeng’s advanced thermal management system ensures that the battery operates optimally across a wide range of temperatures, from -30°C to 55°C. This is the reason why P7 is capable of maintaining its performance in various climates.

The vehicle is built on XPeng’s SEPA platform, which enhances its structural integrity and driving dynamics. The low center of gravity, achieved through the flat battery design, contributes to better handling and stability on the road.
